latest update

Well, we are starting to find our way around here. This city is huge and it is nothing like any city in the world. We were so blessed to have a warm shower this morning, this is something that we have not had so it feels wonderful to be clean again. We have only 5 gallons of hot water for all of us to shower so we have to be quick but it was still warm and nice. Also the girls started school today so you can be praying for them in a new enviroment and around all Spanish speaking children. Some of them know a little English but not much of it. They have made some wonderful friends right down the street and they are starting to talk in espanol already. We start class's today as well learing the language so you can be in prayer that we pick this language up quickly so we can be more involved in the work that we came down here for. We have been told that people are already talking and asking questions about why we are down here and that has been an open door for the locals to share that we are just here to show the love of Christ with them. I was thinking in my mind that everyone here has heard the gospel through all the Christian inuendo that is here, however, I was wrong. Last Sunday the message was about what Jesus did for us and how we need to follow Him and it will entail persecution, hardship, mockery and even being shunned by people closest to us. Then they asked about who wanted to follow this Jesus that they were talking about and there where between 300 and 400 people that came forward for prayer and further discipleship. Then they talked to the youth about sexual purity and asked if the kids that would make a stand for abstanence until marriage would come forward. There were around 500 teens that came forward making a stand for Christ and what He wants for them. This braught us both to tears as we looked out and saw a sea of faces that where willing to stand for Christ. This was like nothing that we have ever seen. I also wanted to tell everyone about the large medical bill that I had when my ovary bursted has been payed in full by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A $3800 dollar bill was taken care of by the hospital. We got a bill in the mail a couple days ago that said that $1200 was do now. Ross called the hospital to talk to them and they told him that the bill had already been taken care of that there was no longer a charge.PRAISE GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blessings mandy
